Team Leaders & Junior Team Leaders
Two of the most important roles at Eagle “U” are that of the Team Leader & Junior Team Leader. Students selected are graduates of our program who are actively implementing the tools they learned at Eagle “U” into their lives. They are expected to serve as an example for participants by sustaining a positive attitude, enthusiastic participation, and professional demeanor.
Team Leaders & Junior Team Leaders participate in extensive training which will benefit them throughout their week at Eagle “U” and often will impact their lives long after. Being a Team Leader/Junior Team Leader for Eagle “U” is a unique opportunity to grow as a leader, to master the Eagle “U” curriculum, and build a stronger network of successful, likeminded people. Participants in the leadership program often find that the tools and experience learned from their week as a Team Leader/Junior Team Leader prepare them for a powerful future.
Team Leaders are hand-picked among past participants of Eagle “U” as one who has demonstrated leadership ability and is also someone who can be a role model that students will follow and look up to. They have an interest in sharing the experience they had at Eagle “U” with others and are committed to participants leaving more confident and ready to take action in their own lives. Team Leaders are responsible for building relationships with participants from their group and continuing contact after the program has ended.
Junior Team Leaders have the opportunity to assist the Eagle “U” Team and Team Leaders throughout the program. They hold the same responsibilities of acting as role models while at Eagle “U”. | “Every time I have gone to Eagle "U" I have gotten something new out of it, but not as much as when I went as a Junior Team Leader. The feeling of knowing that I am helping someone help them self is really indescribable. Not only do you get to help them, but every time you go back to Eagle "U", you pick up more and more things that you over looked. The 4 days I was a Junior Team Leader was one of the most memorable things I have done this year.” -- Matt Granados, 18 yrs old, Freshman at Penn State University, Junior Team Leader |
"Being a Team Leader is an incredibly life changing way to live and model all of the lessons you learned from being a participant. Yes, the whole purpose is to reach out to those in your team, but what is so completely underestimated is the inspiration you receive being by their side to encourage them, reaffirm them, and watch their eyes light up as they realize the potential that lies within them. I can't go a year without it!"-- Nina Andrews, 23 yrs old, Senior at Texas A&M, Team Leader
